The dress of santorini

What if the journey of your life was the journey back to yourself?

Sarah Kings has given everything for others. For twenty-five years, her identity has been that of wife and mother, building a home while her own spirit faded into the silence of an exhausting routine. Now, with an empty nest and the echo of her own long-silenced needs, Sarah feels trapped in a worn-out marriage and afraid of a future without purpose.

But an unexpected fate is being written on the horizon. A dream trip to Greece with her friend Mandy, funded by the generosity of someone who believes in her, becomes the threshold of a transformation she never imagined. On the cobblestone streets of Athens, the untamable wind of Mykonos, and the dreamlike sunsets of Santorini, Sarah begins to shed the masks of duty. Amid the aroma of Greek coffee and the warmth of the Aegean Sea, the protagonist of this spiritual-awakening novel will confront her deepest fears and the question she has been avoiding her whole life: Who am I when I stop being what others expect?

The Dress of Santorini is not just the story of a vacation; it is a powerful novel of female empowerment about the courage to reclaim one's own life. As Sarah prepares for a photo shoot in an iconic red dress, the garment becomes an act of rebellion and self-discovery. Along the way, stories of female friendship like the one between Sarah and Mandy show us the power of a genuine connection and of witnessing one another's transformation. It is a celebration of personal growth for women who, amid the chaos of life, forgot how to shine.

Join Sarah on this journey through the light and beauty of Greece — a story that is far more than a tour of islands; it is a journey back to herself. A novel for those seeking stories of transformation and second chances, and for every woman who needs to remember that sometimes, to find your way home, you must first dare to lose yourself in order to find yourself.

The image on the book cover is a woman in a red dress looking out to sea as the sun is setting.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

I was born in Veracruz, Mexico, and moved to the United States after finishing college. I have built my career where law and language meet: first, I was the voice for those who couldn't find the words in the language the world demands of them, and later, I helped build, from the inside, the spaces where those voices find justice.

I hold degrees in Political Economy and Law. Yet my greatest lessons came from the school of life, at the side of my mother, who never set foot in a classroom and was still my best teacher. She could neither read nor write, but she taught me that what matters is not how much education you have, but the lessons you leave behind through your example. From her, I learned that success is not about what you have, but what you do with it, and that reinventing yourself is not an option but a way of life.

I live in Texas with my family. I believe in God, in a good sense of humor, and that red looks good on any woman bold enough to wear it.

The Dress of Santorini is my first novel. It is being published in October 2026 in Spanish, English, and Portuguese.

PRAISE FOR THE DRESS OF SANTORINI

“This is a story that has moved me deeply. The Dress of Santorini is a journey into the heart of a woman who needs to remember who she is. It is a story of friendship, self-love, courage, and rebirth that gently draws you in and lingers long after you finish it.”—Andrea I. Gómez

“Beautiful, intimate, and deeply healing. This journey through Greece is a love letter to the roots we find in places we never imagined, to the complex relationship between mothers and daughters/sons, and to the courage of starting over. A luminous testament that resonates in the heart of any woman.”—Mónica E. Ruvalcaba
